Calais Experience 18/19 July 2023 and procedures. easy but a waste of time

I thought it would be a good idea if we posted our news about our overseas trips to help others understand processes and procedures.  Our trip to Calais was interesting int his respect.  The Marina had a form they said we needed to fill in for the Police aux Frontieres (PAF).  I was told that we could then take this to visit the PAF office which is by the ferry terminal.  Its a long way from the marina but in fact there is a free Navette (Balad'in) shuttle from close to the marina and directly to PAF.  The marina said that as were only staying overnight and then back to the UK we could go to PAF once and they would stamp our passports in and out.  NOT true.  we had to go all of us to the office on arrival, get our stamps and then the same for exit next morning.  Also they were completely uninterested in the boat details and the crew info (copied from passports of course)!   All in all a bit of a waste of time but it was easy.  I have attached a map so you can see the Calais Marina and the route of the Navette and where you pick it up and get off for PAF.  The Navette has its own bus stops so you will see these on the map.  I was thinking to upload the PAF form but feel it will be out of date the moment I do so I advise a quick call to the marina before you set off..  I am assuming all know the procedure for leaving and re-entering the UK  which is on line and works easily as per the RYA link
