    We have just been advised of the sad passing of Pam Yates, a founder member of Haven Ports Yacht Club, yesterday morning.   Pam, who was in her 80s, will be remembered both as an enthusiastic long distance cruiser and keen offshore racer, as well as for the lively social contribution she made to the club from its earliest days.   • Fitting Out Supper 21st and 22nd May a great success

    The annual fitting out supper took place over 2 evenings (21/22 May 2021) in the Cromer Room.  Both evenings were well attended and enjoyed by more than 50 people.   The 3 course menu was very special with extremely positive feedback from all.  Vince of Chef Noir created a special 3 course menu with favourites such as pork belly and a novel strawberries in hot green pepper sauce with ice cream which received much acclaim-likely to

  • Club In Door Dining In Line with 17 May Easing of Regulations

    As per the recent confirmation of moving forward with the 17th May plans on lockdown easing we are really pleased to announce that we can now welcome visitors to eat indoors on the lightship, using the Cromer Room and Snug areas.  The Trinity room has to remain out of bounds as this is a non ventilatable area and yet we are now working on what can be done there following the anticipated further easing on

  • Pip Hare Local Sailor Finishes Vendee Globe Race

    In the early hours of the 12 Feb 2021, Pip Hare from Cambridgeshire crossed the finish line in France of the gruelling Vendée Globe solo non-stop race around the world. It took her 95 days, 11 hours, 37 mins and 30 seconds and she is only the 8th British women ever to compete and the first British skipper across the line this time.  Pip learnt to sail on the East coast in our Suffolk

  • Club Temporary Closure and Racing Suspended: Updated 23 Dec 2020

    As you will all be aware Suffolk is one of the few regions which remains in the Tier 2 category but many nearby counties/districts are in Tier 4 with the highly restrictive regulations in movement and socialising that this imposes.  In line with these changes we have decided that the planned Boxing Day and New Years Day racing cannot take place.  The Club as announced before remains closed at least until the end of January
