Our clubhouse, Lightvessel 87 offers a great atmosphere with excellent food and of course a friendly welcome from our Steward and his team.

5 Great reasons to join us
Situated on the River Orwell one mile up from the Port of Felixstowe provides excellent access to all the East Coast, Thames Estuary and near Continent. including locally the Rivers Stour, Deben, Ore and Auld and the stunning Walton Backwaters. The whole area is steeped in sailing/boating history.
Active cruising section
With cruises organised on a monthly basis spreading over weekends and longer the cruising section really does make the most of our location with trips down to the River Blackwater, and up to Lowestoft with all locations in between on the list. We really do provide enjoyable cruising in company for our members.
The Lightship is the hub of our full and well supported social program providing a unique atmosphere in the bar and our function room. Talks, dinner dance, club suppers and fund raising for the RNLI form just a small example of what we organise during the winter months.
Full program of club events for both IRC registered racing boats, locally handicapped cruisers, one designs such as Squibs and Melges 24. Club members also compete in the Haven Series, EAORA and other East Coast events. We have also enjoyed success at regattas such as Cowes Week, Cork Week and other RORC events.
Based in Suffolk Yacht Harbour with its excellent road links, you have all the facilities you would expect from a modern marina complex with all tide access and ample parking close to your boat. There are also Sailmakers, Riggers, Electronic and Marine Engineers on site plus a well stocked Chandlery.
