Further to the earlier post some words from our Commodore:
I am sad to report that this morning Friday 17 April that well known and popular life member Paul Trudgett sadly passed away.
Paul had been a member of our club since the early 1980’s and had served both on General Committee and as Treasurer. Many of you will of course remember him as a successful yachtsman sailing the Contessa 32 “Space” and in the later years “Ariane” a Jeanneau 37, which he jointly owned with John Brooking. Paul successfully raced in many of the club events and was a very experienced yachtsman.
Paul unfortunately contracted Parkinson’s disease some time ago but his positive attitude and fortitude in living with this dreadful progressive disease was an example to us all.
Under the present lock down there of course cannot be a full funeral at the moment but I am sure once restrictions are lifted then we will be able to celebrate his life in the appropriate fashion, our thoughts are with Jackie who has shown such love and care looking after Paul especially in these later years.
