announce that the winner is Peter Ingram who sails Orca II. Peter and his dog, Bosun were enthusiastic
supporters of last years somewhat truncated Cruising programme.
Commodores awards from Tony Carter
As the retiring Commodore I have the privilege of awarding the following trophies It gives me great pleasure to award..
The Cresendo Trophy - for services to the club - to Alec Parker. Alec put together the data base of the members on our original computer system so many years ago and has been highly efficient in maintaining it and keeping it up to date. Alec has now stood down from this role as the new sailing club management system has now taken over the data base allowing Alec a very well earned rest from this duty.
The Andy Burnell Trophy - for meritorious achievement - is awarded to Dot Marsden, our current Vice Commodore, for heading up and leading the Covid-19 committee in ensuring that our club could open whilst keeping all members and staff safe from this tiresome coronavirus.
The Sheffield Trophy - normally awarded for seamanship - but as we are not in normal times I hope you will allow me to bend the rules ! I have awarded this to Ian Benson, our Rear Commodore House for bringing the club up to speed with our club management system, new website and data base. This has taken a huge amount of time and effort and allows us all to benefit in being able to access and use our new website, as Ian has been illustrating over the last weeks in the news letters, and portrays the club in a very professional way.
Congratulation to all of our winners. Even though we are still restricted in what we can do, let us hope that the vaccination program we enable us to get out on the water for the 2021 boating season so be prepared to get snapping.
