Club Temporary Closure and Racing Suspended: Updated 23 Dec 2020
Published 00:00 on 23 Dec 2020
As you will all be aware Suffolk is one of the few regions which remains in the Tier 2 category but many nearby counties/districts are in Tier 4 with the highly restrictive regulations in movement and socialising that this imposes. In line with these changes we have decided that the planned Boxing Day and New Years Day racing cannot take place. The Club as announced before remains closed at least until the end of January and this will be reviewed regularly as the situation evolves. It does seem that the recently identified variant of the virus transmits more easily and so we all have to play our part in arresting its progress to give opportunity for the vaccination program to take the desired effect. We are of course hopeful and optimistic that the 2021 sailing season will remain relatively intact.
The Flag team will constantly review the situation and as the situation changes we will be looking to at least get back to the semblance of normality and using the lightship as we were doing immediately prior to this recent lock down. Watch out for regular news updates here and in your weekly HPYC Newsletter.
